Industrial & Electronic Workbenches for Your Home

An industrial workbench is one suited tough enough to serve in an industrial setting. Workbenches are also called workstations, and often aren't flashy, but are simply built to do the job. This doesn't preclude them from being fine garage workbenches, but they aren't necessarily designed for woodworking or home-repair products. As they're made for people who are working at them for several hours a day, industrial workbenches are sometimes among the most ergonomic models on the market.

Electronic workbenches usually come equipped with several electrical outlets built right into the bench itself. This can be very convenient for any task that needs power tools or extra lighting.

Lab and Technical Environments
Because industrial workbenches are built for industry, they make great work surfaces for laboratory and technical environments. These aren't designed with the weekend carpenter or the guy puttering around in his garage in mind. They're made to increase productivity in a manufacturing or industrial setting, while reducing fatigue and carpal tunnel-like stress. These might be a little more sterile than the average workbench shopper is looking for. But again, that doesn't mean they can't be used for the same purposes as the typical garage work bench. They just weren't built with those purposes in mind.

No place for tools
Industrial workbenches are great if you have one or a few tasks to do, and if you have to do them on your feet, or sitting, for several hours straight. And they do often have drawers or a shelf or two. But they aren't designed to hold the tools the average American do-it-yourselfer is going to be using for his or her everyday projects. It's a good bet your back won't hurt while working at an industrial workbench. But it's not the model you'll see Bob Vila using, for example.

There are many styles and sizes of industrial workbenches out there. There may be the perfect style and size for your particular job, especially if you're looking for something for a (business) shop floor, for a warehouse, a lab, and the like.

Electronic Workbenches Offer Convenience
A home workbench can also be an electronic workbench, with outlets built into the design. But many electronic workbenches are also industrial models. Either way, they offer great convenience, with the power source in the workstation itself. There is no tangle of extension cords, and much lower risk of something going wrong along that line. Many also come with ESD grounding capability.
